Florida JACKSONVILLE, FL – The hip-hop community is mourning the passing of 18-year-old rapper Jake Jhitt, who was shot and killed last night, August 17, 2023, in a suspected gang-related assault.

What Happened to Jake Jhitt?
According to the report given by the police, Jhitt was going home by car last night around 11 pm. Then a car stopped next to him and opened fire. The car struck Jhitt’s vehicle many times, causing Jhitt’s vehicle to skid off the highway and crashed into a parked semi-truck. Jhitt was declared dead at the scene.
Authorities believe the shooting may have been a targeted attack by a rival gang as Jhitt had ties to local crews such as K4M, OTD and WAWG. However, the investigation is still on.
As news of Jhitt’s passing spread, condolences poured in on social media from grieving fans and other rappers. Renowned rapper Lil Dex wrote in a tweet, “RIP Jake, gone too soon.”
“Can’t believe someone took my brother away from me,” producer Mizo Beetz, a close friend of Zit’s, said on Twitter.
