Toyota has officially unveiled the all-new Land Cruiser and the legendary model has seen a major update over the
previous generation. Toyota has launched the new 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser in the US market after three years.
The 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser will be available in three grades: Land Cruiser 1958, Land Cruiser, and the limited-run Land Cruiser First Edition.
Since its debut in the US market in 1958, Land Cruiser has evolved over the years from the famous two-door models like the 40 Series with fold-down front windshield, white roof, and rear jump seats to the capable but fully loaded 200.
More importantly, the Land Cruiser has in fact become more affordable and smaller in size, when compared to its
predecessor. The new model is 4.4 inch narrower and 1.2 inch shorter than the previous model, which is claimed to make it a more capable off-roader.
Toyota has also unveiled the 2024 Land Cruiser with a hybrid-only powertrain option. It gets a 4-cylinder, 2.4-litre
turbocharged petrol engine which is paired to an electric motor and 1.87 kWh battery pack. Power is delivered via an 8-speed automatic transmission and the powertrain produces a combined output of 326 hp and 630 Nm of
torque. Complimenting its go anywhere heritage, is Toyota’s advanced 4WD system which will be offered as standard equipment.
The series, which was the last generation sold in the States, combined the unwavering power of the Land Cruiser with premium luxury features.
Now, Land Cruiser is true to its heritage, returning as a high-quality off-roader at a more accessible price that will take a wide range of customers on many backcountry adventures around the world.
2024 Toyota Land Cruiser Specs
This particular one is powered by an i-FORCE MAX turbocharged 2.4-liter four-cylinder hybrid powertrain that produces 326 horsepower, 465 lb.-ft of torque.
Land Cruiser’s new i-FORCE MAX hybrid powertrain comes standard on all grades and pairs a turbocharged 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine with a 48-hp electric motor integrated into an eight-speed transmission feeding off a 1.87-kWh NiMH battery pack that creates a total system output of 326 horsepower and 465 lb.-ft. of torque.
The new Land Cruiser is based on Toyota’s TNGA-F platform which gives it a ground clearance of 221 mm. It is 4,920 mm long and 2,139 mm wide. A wheelbase of 2,850 mm guarantees a lot of room inside the cabin of the 2024 Land Cruiser. In some international markets such as the US, the Land Cruiser will also feature the ‘Prado’ suffix and comes with two distinct front designs.
All Land Cruisers are equipped with a full-time four-wheel drive system with a center locking differential and an electronically controlled two-speed transfer case with high/low range. The system also features vehicle stability control (VSC) and an automatic limited-slip differential (Auto LSD).
An electronic locking rear differential is standard on all Land Cruisers and can help split power 50/50 to the rear wheels for improved traction control on rough terrain.
The interior is again a modern retro themed affair and loved to the gills with all the latest features that you would expect from an SUV of this segment. It gets a 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen, ventilated seats, Heads Up Display, multiple terrain AWD system, wireless charging and more.
First Edition grade is limited to 5,000 units for North America and comes equipped with round heritage LED headlamps, roof rack, rock rails, and exclusive interior design.
The 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser has an approach angle up to 31.0 degrees and max departure to 22.0 degrees while breakover angle reaches 25.0 degrees and Ground clearance is up to 8.7 inches.
2024 Toyota Land Cruiser Price (MSRP)
The manufacturer’s suggested retail pricing will start in the mid $50,000 and be announced closer to its on-sale date. The 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser will be built in Toyota Motor Corporation’s Tahara and Hino plants in Japan and arrive in the U.S. in the spring of 2024.
2024 Toyota Land Cruiser Colors
The 2024 Land Cruiser will be offered in seven exterior color choices: Black, Wind Chill Pearl, Ice Cap, Underground, Meteor Shower, Heritage Blue and Trail Dust. The two-tone Trail Dust and Heritage Blue exterior colors feature a Grayscape roof.

All 2024 models come standard with Toyota Safety Sense 3.0, Toyota’s suite of active safety and convenience systems. TSS enhancements are made possible by system sensors with improved detection capability.
